Rich, Powerful, and Aligned: Unlocking Success, Author, CEO Kim Woods, Massachusetts
On December 17th, 2024, Edge Talk Radio welcomed author, CEO, and master astrologer Kim Woods from Massachusetts for a conversation about creating abundance, recognizing your worth, and combining spiritual wisdom with practical business strategies to achieve success.
With an MBA from Boston College and more than 25 years of corporate experience, Kim brings an interesting combination of business knowledge, astrology, and intuition to her work. However, her journey into combining these worlds began with a deeply personal experience.
When Kim's son was born with significant developmental challenges, doctors gave her a discouraging outlook for his future. Determined to explore every possibility, she began researching alternative approaches alongside traditional care. Through years of challenges, learning, and trusting her intuition, Kim developed a deeper understanding of herself and the importance of combining different approaches. Today, she shares that her son has graduated from college and is doing well.
That experience eventually helped shape the work she now does with entrepreneurs and business owners. Kim believes that spiritual alignment and financial success don't have to be separate. Instead, she encourages people to combine intuition, self-awareness, and spiritual practices with sound business strategies.
One of the biggest topics Angela and Kim explored was the relationship between money and personal worth.
Kim explained that many people working in spiritual or intuitive professions undervalue their services. She experienced this herself when she initially charged considerably less for her astrology work than she did for her corporate consulting. Eventually, she recognized that her spiritual abilities deserved the same respect and value as her traditional business expertise.
She also challenged the belief that spiritual services should always be free or inexpensive. In Kim's view, earning money doesn't diminish someone's spiritual purpose. Financial stability can actually create more opportunities to help others, support charitable work, and make a greater impact.
An especially interesting part of the conversation involved learning to feel comfortable with the amount of money you want to earn.
Kim described asking clients to say their desired prices out loud and pay attention to their physical and emotional reactions. She encourages them to notice sensations in their jaw, heart, and stomach when speaking about their value and rates.
If someone wants to charge $1,000 for a service but becomes uncomfortable saying that amount, Kim suggests finding a number that feels more natural. From there, they can gradually increase their prices as their confidence grows.
She shared her own experience of wanting to charge $2,500 per month when expanding her spiritual business. Although she believed in that goal, she initially struggled to say the price during sales conversations. Instead, she began at $750, a number she could confidently communicate, and worked her way toward her original goal.
The lesson wasn't about settling for less. It was about building confidence and recognizing your value one step at a time.
Kim also discussed the importance of understanding your business numbers without allowing emotions or self-criticism to take over. Rather than becoming discouraged when income falls short of a goal, she encourages business owners to examine their current situation, recognize their progress, and create practical steps toward improvement.
Another valuable reminder was to appreciate the clients and relationships you already have. Instead of constantly searching for new customers, Kim suggested reconnecting with former clients and checking in with existing ones to discover how you might better support them.
Throughout the interview, Kim returned to the importance of balancing what she calls masculine and feminine energies: strategy with intuition, action with receiving, and ambition with personal fulfillment.
She also reminded listeners that abundance isn't limited to money. It can mean having more freedom, spending time with family, choosing the clients you enjoy working with, or creating space to do what you love.
For Kim, success isn't simply about reaching a financial number. It's about creating a life that feels aligned with who you are, what you value, and the difference you want to make.
What I Learned From Kim Woods
One thing that really stood out to me was Kim's explanation of how we can physically feel the frequency of abundance, including sensations in our jaw.
When you have a financial goal or a certain amount you want to charge for your services, say that number out loud and really listen to how it feels in your heart. If you feel uncomfortable, cringy, or start doubting whether someone would actually pay you that amount, that's alright.
Start with a smaller number that feels comfortable and believable to you. As you grow more confident and recognize the value of yourself and your services, gradually increase that goal. You don't have to jump to the highest number immediately.
I also loved Kim's reminder that life is luscious. The words we speak, the thoughts we think, and the value we place on ourselves all play a part in creating a luscious life.
